2014 Apr 7 – Two sides of the coin: Lessons of Sharia & Haqiqa linked to daily life

The-Two-Sides-of-the-CoinShaykh Ahmad Saad spoke very eloquently about the importance of linking both Shariah and Haqiqah in to our daily life. People require a combination of both- one alone is not sufficient and complete.

Shariah is Islamic law based on the teachings of the Quran and the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad (saw). Haqiqah means seeking the truth/ reality.

Shaykh Saad gave the analogy of the coin; one side carries the value and one side carries the identity, if we only have one it is dangerous for us. Thus Shariah and Haqiqah are in par, without one we would not be complete.

Hence to strive for this, it is important to implement Shariah in to daily our daily life, we need to focus on ibadah as much as outer appearance. We should strive to seek knowledge- genuine knowledge. This will help fix our understanding and concept of our Lord and help us progress.
